Use case
Connected Device Box-Build
Any connected product where the buyer needs a finished, packed unit and not a bare PCBA. The box-build sequence includes integration, sealing, antenna, label, and pack, in that order, with a final test gate before the label goes on.
Typical BOM characteristics
- Tested PCBA from upstream
- Housing parts (plastic, aluminum, or hybrid)
- Cable harness components
- Gasket materials
- Antenna (PCB or external)
- Label artwork
- Packaging materials
Test plan example
- Pre-integration PCBA functional test pass
- Post-integration final functional test
- Sample IP rating verification per batch
- Label placement verification
Box-build scope
- PCBA into housing with conformal coat or pot if specified
- Cable harness routed and connectors mated
- Mechanical fasteners torqued to spec
- Gaskets seated, lid closed, sample IP test
- Final functional test
- Label applied with serial, MAC, batch, certifications
- Unit packed per spec
